Tried And Tested Beauty Tips For The Sleep-Deprived

If you have to categorize people into categories, I personally feel that they can be divided into two. The first set of people are those who fall asleep in a jiffy (Yes, I am jealous) without any struggle or effort. And then there is the second set, people like me, who despite waking up early, cannot fall asleep instantly. Right from listening to music that promises sleep in seconds to a plethora of hacks, I have tried it all. But Alas! The results are still the same.

Now, you are probably wondering why I am going on and on about sleep. Well, because since people like us are not able to enjoy their beauty sleep, every morning, it shows on our faces. From dark circles to dull skin, the hardships we end up facing. And this gets especially difficult if you are a working professional or a full-time student because naps are then a luxury, something you can day-dream about. So, what do you do then?

How can you keep your skin fresh and alive? We have just the beauty tips for you. Keep reading.

Hydrate!

The first rule of keeping your skin healthy is to hydrate yourself. So, what should you do? Drink lots and lots of water. If plain water bores you then you can also try to switch between green tea, fruit juices, and more. When you drink the required amounts of water, it flushes out all the toxins from the body and keeps your skin fresh.

Massage Your Skin

Now, there are a lot of beauty gurus out there who recommend products that almost burn a hole in your pocket, but I am here to suggest easy-peasy, pocket-friendly tips. When it comes to skin massage, what you can do is, take an ice-cube and wrap it in a tissue. Then, gently massage it all over your neck and face in upward strokes for a minute. This will let the blood circulation flow and make your skin seem alive. If not, ice, you can also make use of Aloe Vera gel.

The first step here is to store the gel in your refrigerator so that it is cold and glides smoothly through the skin. Every morning, before you begin your skin prep, take a little bit of Aloe gel and gently massage your face and neck for a minute or two. After the gel gets absorbed by the skin, you can continue with your skincare routine. It actually works!

A Sheet Mask

Sheet masks are handy. Use them when your skin feels too dull or dry. You can apply a sheet mask for just 10 minutes and it does wonders to your skin. It makes it feel hydrated and can add a glow. So, if you are someone who is generally sleep-deprived, always keep sheet masks handy because you never know when you might need them.

Dark Chocolate

You can take a quick bite of dark chocolate, but a quick DIY mask using this as your main ingredient is superb for the skin. However, you can’t do this every day. So, keep this tip handy for when it is absolutely necessary. Just take a piece of dark chocolate, add a teaspoon of milk and honey. Mix it all together. You can easily melt the chocolate in a microwave or can do it using a double-boiler method. Apply the mixture generously on your face and neck. Let it sit for 15 minutes and then wash it off. It adds a rosy glow and makes your skin feel soft and hydrated.

Makeup

Makeup is an excellent hack after you have followed all the natural steps I have mentioned above. Why? Because your skin is a canvas and applying makeup is an art. So, you need the canvas to be in top-notch condition for the makeup to do its job. Also remember, little is more. Don’t try to overdo it. Just a little bit of foundation is the best way to go. Otherwise, you can opt for BB or CC cream.

Hair Wash?

Did you know? To make yourself look fresh and awake, just wash your hair. Now, you are probably thinking how will it help my skin? Oh! But, it does. A great hair day can make you feel good and even enhance your skin texture since you spend extra time in the shower. So, while you are at it, give your body a good scrub too.

No To Kohl

You are already running on less sleep and your skin is dull. Maybe, dark circles have also made an appearance. So, if you are someone who cannot live without their kajal pencil, now is the time to ditch it because it can make us focus all attention to your dark circles. But if you must, use it on your upper eyelid.

Add Some Color

Rosy cheeks? Yes! A little bit of color will elevate your entire look. If you are a makeup person, use a highlighter too. But keep it subtle.

Color Me Bright

Lipstick should always be the weapon of your choice. Just a dash of bright pigment on your lips and it can transform your entire look. It is the easiest way to make yourself look well put together. So, go on, give it a try.

Dress Well

This is your final step. When I say dress well, I don’t mean wear something utterly fashionable every day. Nope. All I mean is wear clean and well-pressed clothes. Make sure your shoes are clean and if you can try to accessorize a little. This really helps. You not only feel confident, but your appearance makes everyone feel like you are prepared for the day.
