Yoga is a mind and body practise that originated in ancient India almost 5,000 years ago. It is also an exceptional form of physical activity that gives you a surge of energy and makes you feel mentally peaceful. So, we bring you these Yoga positions to help you do just that and you can practice them during a quick work break as well. Take a look.

Downward Facing Dog

Inversions promote blood circulation, which helps boost energy instantly. This yoga for energy position is an inversion and very easy to practice. Although it is an exercise, you will notice your heart pumping faster and it will also help reduce any fatigue that you are feeling. Just practice this pose for 5 to 10 minutes and you are all set. In fact, you can do this the first thing in the morning too. How to do it? Stay in this pose for one minute and then dropdown.

Table Top Pose

As we have mentioned earlier, yoga poses help increase energy and one of the poses is the table pose. It is good for your body and your mind. It warms up your shoulders and activates your core. Take this time to become more aware of the alignment of your spine. Take this time to also notice your chakras. Hold this pose for a minute and then rest. It stimulates the circulation in your body and energizes yourself. Take a deep breath and let it out slowly while practising this pose.

Camel Pose

Did you know? When you bend backwards, it boosts your energy instantly. And, in this pose that’s exactly what you do. Bending backwards helps release all the energy stored inside of you. Hold this pose for a minute and rest. Follow this for 10 minutes.

Child’s Pose

One of the most relaxing poses in yoga is the child’s pose. It helps rejuvenate your mind and body and will make you feel immensely energetic and relax. Also, when you place your head on the mat while closing your eyes and taking deep breaths, it even helps enhance your concentration and clarity. Do this for a minute and then take a 30 seconds break and then do it again for 5 to 10 minutes. If you feel too much pressure on your knees, you can always place a towel near your knees to make it feel more comfortable.

Plank Pose

This yoga pose for increasing your energy is incredible. Plank pose helps in strengthening your arms, spine, and core. It is especially beneficial for people who work on computers or sitting on a desk for long durations as it releases the tension you keep in your back while boosting your energy and mood. You can also try your own variations of this pose, something with which you are comfortable. Again, hold this pose for a minute and rest and repeat the process for 10 minutes and you are sorted.

Warrior Pose

Warrior pose is not only beneficial for a dose of energy but it also enhances your confidence and self-esteem. Hold on to this position for a couple of minutes and then release it. Repeat the process for 10 minutes. You will see a surge in your stamina, energy, and will motivate you in the process.

Chair Pose

Also known as the fierce pose, it helps pulsate your energy from within you enhancing your stamina and your mood. It also helps tone your body. Do this for a minute and rest and practice it for 5 or 10 more minutes.

You can either practice these poses together as a form of exercise every morning or evening or do one at a time for at least 10 minutes to increase your energy.
