Bloomer Craze Women of the Week, Lauren Turton is a vibrant personality, who has undertaken several initiatives towards the betterment of the society and is a young entrepreneur we look up to. Right from working with women, who need clarity and support on their calling to running nonprofits, she has several feathers in her cap that inspire us to hustle harder and make our goals come true too. We had a little chat with her to let you in on her life. So, keep reading to know more.
1. How was your childhood? What did you aspire to be when you were little?
I grew up in the suburbs of Dayton, Ohio located in the midwestern region of the United States. My father is American and my mom is from Japan. When I was 8 years old they added another profession to their lives – white water rafting guides. Every weekend we would travel to West Virginia where my parents would guide customers down the New and Gauley Rivers. My childhood was filled with outdoor adventures and activities including white water rafting, hiking, rock climbing, and kayaking. Needless to say, I was an adventurous little girl. I also loved the creative world and was in choirs, musicals, and I excelled at art class.
The first time I made my own money was when I was 8 years old. I asked my parents to buy me a candy bar and they said, “No. We provide you with 3 balanced meals. If you want extras you can buy them yourself.” That’s when I learned what being an entrepreneur was.
I found someone with a skill set I didn’t have and asked her to teach me. I then learned how to make jewelry and started selling it to my parents’ friends and the gift shop at the outdoor outfitters they worked at allowed me to sell my jewelry at the shop! I was in business (and buying candy bars!).
2. Give us a brief about your life and work
I’ve worked in so many industries since I officially started working when I was 16; grocery stores, retail shops, nanny, restaurants, bars, events, and the digital space.
Currently, I am working with women who want to break through to their next level of success, but need clarity on their calling. I’ve created a transformational program that takes my clients through an 8 step formula that helps them dive into what their purpose is and to leverage that for their next level of success. Then we create a detailed action plan on how they will turn their dreams into a reality.
I’m also the co-creator of The Wealthy Wellness System, we work with wellness experts to take their expertise online by creating an online program then we implement the marketing strategies to drive their ideal client to that offer.
I’m a partner at Ciao Ciao Piadina, a new Italian restaurant opening in San Diego, California by the end of 2020.
My main purpose in life is to give back and serve others which I do through my volunteer work at Namaste Wings to Fly America. We raise funds for projects in southern India which include an orphanage and several education centers. I travel there yearly to check on the projects we manage.
I’ve also created At Least One Day A Month, we work with nonprofits and help them with marketing and events so they can raise more funds and awareness for their cause.
3. What are your accomplishments?
My biggest accomplishment is breaking through the stereotypes that say I shouldn’t be successful.
Child of an immigrant, I don’t have a college degree and I’ve been through several traumatic situations in my life. Breaking through all of this and becoming successful is my biggest accomplishment.
4. What made you decide to start your venture? Was there an incident that inspired it?
I always knew I wanted to have my own company and two years ago the universe gave me that opportunity when the event production company I had poured my entire life into started to fall apart. Suddenly, I had to decide… Do I get a job at another event company or go all-in on having my own company? I went all in.
5. Was it difficult in the beginning? What was your hustle journey like?
It’s difficult every day! There’s so much to deal with as a business owner, but you learn to manage the difficulties in a better way as you get more experience.
6. What are your main challenges?
With everything happening in the world right now, the constant need to pivot what’s happening in the business and to always be on the lookout for new changes in the world.
7. How did you overcome failures? What kept you going?
Oh geez, I’ve had SO many failures including four companies that flopped and so much money down the drain. I kept going because I knew there were people who needed my expertise and that I could help.
8. 2020 is looking like a difficult year. What helps keep you motivated?
My past clients, current clients, and future clients plus my core group of family and friends that encourage me daily. When I’m feeling down or overwhelmed I just think to myself, there are people who need your help!
9. What are your future plans?
Stabilize and expand 🙂
10. Who is your role model or that one person you look up to?
There’s a handful of people I admire, but I’ve never had one key person that is my role model. This may sound self-centered but I think of myself as my main role model. Snoop Dog said it best, I want to thank me for being me.

You can do it! But you must put action behind what it is you want to do and you must act on that plan.
